Donna Sue (Betoche) Springer, 67, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020, at 3:20 p.m., at her residence. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Rem Dyas will officiate. Cremation rites were accorded.
Mrs. Springer was born on February 24, 1952 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Don and Alta (Schoeneweis) Betoche. She was a 1970 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL and Southern Illinois University/Edwardsville (SIU/E), earning a BA in elementary education and music and was a school teacher for 31 years at Hillsboro School District, Hillsboro, IL, teaching elementary education and music. She married Dennis Springer on March 25, 1972 at the First Presbyterian Church, Hillsboro, IL and he survives in Hillsboro, IL. Mrs. Springer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hillsboro, IL; member of Irving Displaced Personnel Society (D.I.P.S.), Irving, IL; was an avid bowler; played in several bands; loved to fish and play piano; was trained as a classical pianist; taught piano; loved to go and watch her children perform with their bands; and loved dogs, and her dog, Cagoon, a Great Dane. She lived in the Hillsboro, IL area her entire life.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Springer is survived by two sons, Job (wife Lali Acuna) Springer of Los Angeles, CA; and Jacob (wife Jessi) Springer of Litchfield, IL; two grandchildren, Matilda Springer and Bruno Springer; and two sisters, Connie (husband Jim) Harling of Hillsboro, IL; and Cindy (husband Steve) Simburger of Taylor Springs, IL.
Memorials may be given to Beckemeyer School Music Department or Hillsboro Area Hospital Respiratory Department.
