Donald Edwin Mueller Sr.

Donald Edwin Mueller Sr., 75, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the church.  Rev. Michael Plummer, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate.  Military rites will be held immediately following the service, by the Department of Defense, at the church. 

Mr. Mueller was born May 14, 1948, in Highland, IL, to the late Theodore & Veronica (Turnoprovich) Mueller.  He was a 1966 Graduate of Collinsville High School in Collinsville, IL and was a veteran of the Army, serving during Vietnam.  He married Carol Kershaw, on December 2, 1967, at Maryville Baptist Church in Maryville, IL.  Mr. Mueller was an Operation supervisor for Shell Oil Refinery in Wood River, IL and was a member of V.F.W. Post #1308 in Alton, IL; Woodburn Bible Church in Bunker Hill, IL and Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL.  He had lived in Collinsville, IL; Staunton, IL; Bunker Hill, IL; Kansas, while in the service and Hillsboro, IL during his lifetime.

Mr. Mueller is survived by his wife, Carol Mueller of Hillsboro, IL; three sons, Donald (wife, Shannon) Mueller Jr. of Moro, IL, Michael (wife, Lisa) Mueller of WI and Jeffrey Mueller of WI; five grandchildren, Lauren Dunn, Jacob Mueller, Tristan Mueller, Milo Mueller and Stella Mueller; one great grandchild, Izadora Mueller and three siblings, Ted Mueller, Paul Mueller and Pat Mueller Davis.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Casey Mueller and one brother, William Mueller in infancy.
