Diana Kay Holmes

Diana Holmes, 73, of Hillsboro, IL passed away Saturday May 20, 2023, at 2:27 a.m., at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL with a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., this will be a time for family and friends to share memories. Reception will Immediately follow at the Ambulance Garage on School St in Hillsboro, IL. Inurnment will be at a later date in Rosamond Cemetery in Rosamond, IL.                                                                    

Miss Holmes was born June 8, 1949 in Witt, IL to Pat and Dorothy (Briegel) Holmes, both have preceded in death.  She was a 1967 Graduate of Witt High School in Witt, IL and went on to Respiratory Therapist school in Minnesota.  She had worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL, an EMT at Hillsboro Ambulance Service, and  was the  Emergency Management Coordinator for Montgomery County, IL. Miss Holmes was a member of Hillsboro Area Ambulance Board of Directors, EMT and CPR instructor, Disaster Preparedness Board, She enjoyed trap shooting and motorcycle riding. She loved watching Cardinals Baseball and her cats and dogs.

She is survived by nieces and nephews Julie Marfell-Konopka of Lexington, KY; Bob (wife, Jeannie) Marfell of  Springfield, IL, Suzie (husband, Craig) Myers of Beardstown, IL and Michael (wife, Kara) Marfell of  St. Louis, MO. Several great and great-great nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary Holmes in Infancy and Sister, Barbara Marfell.
