Dennis Jagodzinski Obituary

Dennis Lee Jagodzinski, 65, of Taylor Springs, IL passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 2:47 a.m. at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL. Family and Friends will meet at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL at 10:30 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery. Deacon Lee Johns, of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.

Mr. Jagodzinski was born in Litchfield, IL, on January 31, 1955, to the late Leo E. and Gladys Mae (Slifka) Jagodzinski. He was a 1973 graduate from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL and had attended classes for firefighting. Mr. Jagodzinski married Dara Lou Pesko, on May 22, 1976, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL.  She survives in Taylor Springs, IL.  He had worked for Ameren Illinois on the Gas Department for 30 + years and was a member of Labor Union 1084.  He was a member of the Taylor Springs Fire Department, where he had served as Fire Chief; Village of Taylor Springs Board of Trustee, as well as serving as Mayor; Montgomery County Board Member, where he had served as vice chairman; Shoal Creek Ducks Unlimited Committee and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL. He also loved to hunt, fish and golf. Mr. Jagodzinski had lived in Taylor Springs, IL his entire life.

Mr. Jagodzinski is survived by his wife, Dara Lou Jagodzinski of Taylor Springs, IL; one son, Brock Jagodzinski of Taylor Springs, IL and one brother, Kevin Jagodzinski of Taylor Springs, IL. Mr. Jagodzinski was preceded in death by his parents, Leo E. and Gladys Mae (Slifka) Jagodzinski.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to Montgomery County Cancer Association or Taylor Springs Fire Department.
