Dennis Graden Obituary

Dennis Jon Graden, 80, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 9:55 a.m. at his residence. Due to increasing cases of COVID-19, private services will be held. Rev. Mike Lawton, Pastor of United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL, and Rev. Ralph Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Ohlman Cemetery, Ohlman, IL.

Mr. Graden was born on December 10, 1940, in Nokomis, IL, to the late Gilbert and Geneva Louise (Davis) Graden. He was a 1958 graduate of Nokomis High School in Nokomis, IL, and graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL. Mr. Graden retired from Lincoln Farm Business Farm Management after 30 years, where he assisted farmers in business analysis, tax preparation, and estate planning. Prior to that he worked for Production Credit Association, later called Farm Credit Services. He was also a licensed real estate broker and did farm appraisal work. During his life, Mr. Graden has lived in Nokomis, IL, Carlinville, IL, Belleville, IL, and Hillsboro, IL. He married Irene M. Dahler on August 25, 1962 in Ohlman, IL. She survives in Hillsboro, IL. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL; a former member of Sertoma and Jaycees; member of the Luck-n-Buck Saddle Club; He loved golf, country music, horses, and cars; He had a great sense of humor and was always a jokester; he enjoyed helping farmers by his career choice; and loved small town country living.

In addition to his wife, Irene, Mr. Graden, he is survived by his sons, Brian Graden of Los Angeles, CA, and Jon Graden  of New York, NY; brothers, Gerald Graden of Litchfield, IL, and Charles (wife Marinel) Graden of Nokomis, IL; sister-in-law, Janet Graden of Nokomis, IL and brother-in-law,  Marion (wife, Jeanene) Dahler of Nokomis, IL.  Mr. Graden was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Graden.

Memorials may be given to Hillsboro United Methodist Church, Ohlman United Church of Christ, and Chaddock School for Troubled Children.
