Daniel Joseph Alonzo

Daniel Joseph Alonzo, 64, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 4:52 a.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL. Memorial service will be Friday, September 22, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL. Rev. Randy Sands will officiant. Mr. Alonzo was born May 30, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Louis and Shirley (Fore) Alonzo, both preceded in death.  He worked as a Factory Laborer, a Handyman, and he was a fisherman.

Daniel was in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany for six years. He also lived in Columbia, MO., Staunton, IL., Hillsboro, IL., and Witt, IL. On December 22, 1989 he married Mary Mills, she passed away in 2019. He then married Dorothy Raines on October 5, 2020 in Witt, IL, she survives at home. He Loved fishing, playing on the computer, and watching the History Channel.

Mr. Alonzo is also survived by his daughters, Tia Alonzo of Hillsboro, IL., Melisa Alonzo of Hillsboro, IL., and Kimberley Alonzo of Imperial City, MO. Grandchildren, Damien, Gabriella, Ariahna, and Hunter. Siblings Billy Alonzo, Raymond Alonzo, Louise Alonzo Hendren, and Patti Tapley. He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife.
