Dale White Obituary

Dale Lee White, 91, of Irving, IL, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 11:15 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL. A Private Family Service will be held wth Rev. John Jaffry, Pastor of Wares Grove Lutheran Church in Rural Butler, IL, will officiate.   Burial will be in Wares Grove Cemetery in Rural Butler, IL.  Military Rites will be accorded.  A public memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

Mr. White was born on March 31, 1929, in Hillsboro, IL, to the late Wilbur R. and Zelma L. (Caulk) White.  He was a 1947 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL and was a lifelong farmer. Mr. White served in the United States Navy from 1948-1951. He lived in Irving, IL most of his life.  Mr. White married Frances Jeanette Rieke on June 27, 1954 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, IL and she preceded him on January 18, 2013.  Mr. White was a member of Wares Grove Lutheran Church in rural Butler, IL; Irving Masonic Lodge; Hillsboro School Board; Farm Bureau; American Legion Post #425 in Irving, IL; Irving City Board and Montgomery County Board for 10 years; He was inducted into the Illinois High School Basketball Hall of Fame for his scoring records, he was also nominated for the class of 2021 to be inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame; He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

Mr. White is survived by two children, Dan (wife, Michelle) White of Irving, IL and Sue (husband, Gene) Tuggle of Irving, IL; three grandchildren, Megan (husband, Luke) Tuetken, Nic (wife, Kate) White and Morgan White (fiancé Andrew Jorn) and five great-grandchildren, Jackson Tuetken, Harrison Tuetken, Sloan Tuetken, Tessa Marie White and Garrett White.  Along with his wife, Fran White, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James White and Don White.

Memorial may be given to Wares Grove Lutheran Church, rural Butler, IL or Irving United Methodist Church, Irving, IL.
