Cheryl Ann Whitten, 66, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, @ 2:22 a.m., at her residence. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL. Memorial Service will follow, at 3:00 p.m., at the church. Rev. Joe Lawson and Rev. Michael Plummer will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.
Mrs. Whitten was born on February 2, 1958, in Hillsboro, IL, to William “Bill” and Theresa (Jagosh) Whitley. She was a 1976 Graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL. She married Mike Whitten, on February 26, 1977, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL and he survives in Hillsboro, IL. Mrs. Whitten had worked at McFarlin Medical Clinic in Hillsboro, IL and then retired from the City of Hillsboro in August of 2014. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL and enjoyed bicycling, hiking, pickleball, swimming, traveling and attending Christian music concerts. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and always used the phrase “Love You More”.
Mrs. Whitten is survived by her husband, Mike Whitten of Hillsboro, IL; mother, Theresa Whitley of Hillsboro, IL; two daughters, Amy (husband, Ron) Maedge of Staunton, IL and Mary (husband, John) Battuello of Hillsboro, IL; five grandchildren, Landon (wife, Grace) Maedge, Kinslee Maedge, Briar Maedge, Scarlett Battuello & Leo Battuello; two brothers, William “Billy” (wife, Lori) Whitley of Seattle, WA and Michael (wife, Jennifer) Whitley of Anamosa, IA and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
