Charles "Buck" Nelson White

Charles Nelson “Buck” White, 85, of Coffeen, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 1:15 a.m. at  Montgomery Nursing & Rehab in Taylor Springs, IL. Visitation will be Monday, June 3, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL, with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.

Charles was born January 21, 1939, in Hillsboro, IL. to Wilbur W. and Mima Jane (Lyerla) White who have both preceded in death. He graduated Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL and went on to join the United States Air Force. He Married Candace Martin and they later divorced. He then Married Cynthia “Cyndy” Mueller and she preceded in death. Buck worked as an Operating Engineer for Local #520. He was a member of Mt Moriah Baptist Church in Coffeen, IL and a member of Operating Engineer Union Local #520. He lived in Coffeen and Hillsboro area all of his life.

Mr. White is survived by his sons, Walter C. Martin and Mark J (wife, Cindy) Martin; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents; step-father, Jake Hollaway; wife, Cyndy; siblings, Russell Marvin White, Joy Ann White (both in infancy), David “Crockett” White, and Jimmie Dean White.
