Bruce Edward Fenton Sr., 75, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 4:30 a.m., at Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Hillsboro, IL. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Jeff Hemken, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.
Mr. Fenton was born February 20, 1946, in St. Louis County, MO, to the late Willis Alva and Viola Louise (Hicks) Fenton. He married Linda Lee Friesland and they later divorced. He then married Barbara Ann (Morrell) Whitlow on October 10, 1987, in Hillsboro, IL. She preceded him in death on May 12, 2020. Mr. Fenton had worked as a School Custodian at Hillsboro School District #3 in Hillsboro, IL and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL.
Mr. Fenton is survived by one son, Bruce Edward (wife, Angela) Fenton Jr. of Mt. Clare, IL; three step-children, Bob (wife, Tina) Whitlow of Pawnee, IL, Bill (wife, Patty) Whitlow of Witt, IL and Karen (husband, Jeff) Dozier of Springfield, IL; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and siblings, John William (wife, Alice) Fenton of Hillsboro, IL; Melinda Ann (husband, Larry) Guinn of Hillsboro, IL and Nellie Moore of Port Charlotte, FL. Along with his parents and wife Barbara, he was preceded in death by three sibilings, Alva Lee Fenton, Gloria June Clayton and Vada Carter and brother-in law, Sam Moore.
