Bob Lavern Clanton, 92, of Coffeen, IL passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his residence. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Services will be on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Daniel R. White, of Coffeen, IL, will officate. Burial will be in Donnellson Cemetery in Donnellson, IL.
Mr. Clanton was born on August 28, 1926, in Reno, IL, to the late Brian & Lena (Schmidt) Clanton. He married Margaret Ilene Loew on June 30, 1956 in Donnellson, IL. She survives in Coffeen, IL. He had worked at the Rock Quarry in Nokomis, IL for 33 years. It was Bramer Quarry when he started and then sold to Material Services. He loved wood working and refinishing antiques. He also loved bird watching, especially Hummingbirds and working in his garden.
Mr. Clanton is survived by his wife and two daughters, Brenda (husband, Larry) Ackerman of Hillsboro, IL and Rebecca Clanton (fiancé, Ken Johnson) of Raymond, IL. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold Clanton, Jack Clanton, Everett Clanton, Gilbert Clanton and Wes Clanton.
