Bernard “Bernie” Bailey Hoehn, 72, of Vandalia, Illinois passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, @ 10:56 a.m., at his residence. Private services will be held and burial will be at Irving Cemetery in Irving, Illinois. Father Daniel Willenborg, Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, Illinois.
Mr. Hoehn was born on September 15, 1951 in Hillsboro, Illinois to Joseph Bailey and Fairy May (Jones) Hoehn. He was a 1969 graduate of Taylorville High School in Taylorville, Illinois. He married Deborah C. Copenhaver on August 30, 1974 in Taylorville, Illinois and she survives in Vandalia, Illinois. Throughout his life, Mr. Hoehn has resided in Taylorville, Witt, Oconee, Blue Mound, Decatur, and Vandalia. Mr. Hoehn retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of service as a Journeyman Machinist. He was a member of UAW 751 and a NRA Benefactor Life Member. Aside from being a gun enthusiast, he enjoyed nature, music, and movies. He liked to make people laugh and always wanted to leave them with a smile on their face.
Mr. Hoehn is survived by his wife, Deborah Hoehn of Vandalia, Illinois and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Hoehn.
