Augusta (Pfeifer) Hartman

Augusta (Pfeifer) Hartman, 86, of Coffeen, IL passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at 11:12 a.m. at her residence in Coffeen, IL. A private family funeral service will take place. Rev. Eugene Dunkley, Pastor of the Free Methodist in Coffeen, IL, will officiate. Burial will take place at Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen, IL.

Ms. Hartman was born on April 6, 1933, in Coffeen, IL, to the late John and Althea (Thacker) Pfeifer. She was an LPN at Greenville Hospital in Greenville, IL; then at Hillsboro Rehab & Nursing in Hillsboro, IL. Ms. Hartman was a member of the Lutheran Church in Irving, IL; she was an avid reader, played the piano and loved to dance. Ms. Hartman married Estell McNew, he preceded her in death. She then later married Tom Hartman, whom also preceded her in death. Ms. Hartman lived her whole life in Coffeen, IL.

Ms. Hartman is survived by her children, Diane McNew Eleopoulas, Springfield, IL; Doris Milslagle, Coffeen, IL; Estell Eugene McNew, Coffeen, IL; Identical twins, Darlene (husband, Rocky) Jones, Coffeen, IL & Delores Wells, Coffeen, IL; Debra Kay McNew, Coffeen, IL. Sixteen grandchildren, Karma Lacquement, Maresa Bradford, Chris Lentz, Adrienne Griffith, Mark Davis II, Chuck McNew, Natalie Maier, Stephanie Stewart, Jennifer Darnell, Aaron Jones, Rachel Courtnay, Mike Wells, Corey Wells, Benny Wells, Cara Kay White, and Ryan Civitate; as well as thirty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her brother, Paul Pfeifer. Along with her parents and husbands, Ms. Hartman was also preceded in death by one brother.
