Anthony "Tony" Hayes

Anthony “Tony” Hayes, 48, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 10:03 a.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital, Hillsboro, IL.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Burial will take place in Wares Grove Cemetery, Rural Butler, IL.  Pastor Michael Lawton, Pastor of United Methodist Church, Hillsboro, IL, will officiate.

Mr. Hayes was born on August 9, 1971, in Hillsboro, IL to the late Earl L. and Mary Ann (Henson) Hayes.  He was a 1989 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL and worked at Wareco and IGA, Hillsboro, IL, and at Wal-Mart, Litchfield, IL.  He attended Wares Grove Church, Rural Butler, IL, as a child; loved to shoot pool; was a Chicago Bears fan and a Cincinnati Reds fan; enjoyed WWF wrestling; and enjoyed being with family and his nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hayes is survived by a sister, Ruth (husband Steve) Ernst of Hillsboro, IL and a brother, Kenneth (wife Maureen) Hayes of Butler, IL.

Mr. Hayes was also preceded by his siblings, Donna Jean Hayes, Merle Ann Weller, and Louis “Lee” E. Hayes.

Memorials may be given to Myotonic Dystrophy or Wares Grove Cemetery, Rural Butler, IL.
