Sandra Lea (Sportsman) Lawson

Sandra Lea Lawson, 82, of Carlinville, IL, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at 4:43 p.m. at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in HIllsboro, IL.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home.  Rev. James Hayes, Pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officate.  

Mrs. Lawson was born on February 22, 1937 in Cheney, Kansas to the late James Robert and Alma Iola (Sisk) Sportsman. She worked at Hillsboro Area Hospital, Hillsboro, IL, for twenty-seven years. Mrs. Lawson lived in Taylor Springs, IL, and Carlinville, IL throughout her life. 

Mrs. Lawson is survived by one daughter, Tammy Novotny, Worden, IL; one grandchild, Lucas Novotny, Lincoln, NE; two great grandchildren, Jossilea Taylor DeBardeleben, and Rylea Carol DeBardeleben; two brothers, Robert Sportsman, FL, and Walter Sportsman, FL; and one sister, Patricia McGee, Port Orange, FL.

Mrs. Lawson was also proceded in death by one grandchild, Brandi Lea Novotny; two great grandchildren, Paden DeBardeleben, and Derek Tyler Schaake; and one sister, Sue Henke.
