Reid Robison Holshouser, 26, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 17, 2017. 

Visitation: Thursday, June 22, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 at Hillsboro Free Methodist Church. 

Funeral: Friday, June 23, 2017, at 10:00 at Hillsboro Free Methodist Church.

Burial:  Friday, June 23, 2017, Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro, IL.

Reid was born May 15, 1991, in Litchfield, to Joey and Patty (Robison) Holshouser.

He graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 2009.  After graduating from Lincoln Land Community College in 2011 with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, he served in United States Marine Corps from August 1, 2011, to July 31, 2016.  Reid’s service include a 2014-15 deployment to Kuwait and Iraq.  Beginning in January, 2017, he was continuing his Criminal Justice studies at University of Alabama, realizing a long time dream of his.

During his elementary and junior high school years, Reid was a member of the Junior Topper wrestling team.  He played football all four years in high school. Reid was a passionate Cardinals baseball and Alabama football fan.

He worked with the Hillsboro Street Department during his summers in high school, and he was a lifeguard at Fusion Aquatics between his Marine Corps service and attending University of Alabama.  He was employed as a lifeguard in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Reid was of the Free Methodist faith and was a member of the CLC youth group at the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church during his school-age years.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in March of 2000, and was baptized on June 11, 2000 into Christian faith.

Reid touched so many peoples’ lives.  He is survived by his family and so many friends who loved him.

In addition to his parents, Reid leaves behind his sister, Raymee (David) Alper of St. Louis, MO, and his brother, Tyson (Dana) Holshouser of Hillsboro.  He will also be missed by his biggest admirers, his niece and nephew, Mila and Emmett Alper and his niece, Hazel Holshouser.  Other survivors include his grandparents, Bob and Clara Clearwater, Aunt Janis and Uncle Mike Collins, Uncle John Robison, Uncle Robby and Brenda Robison, all of Hillsboro, Aunt Sheila Moore of Cowden, and Uncle Max and Aunt Sally Holshouser of California.  His cousins are Michael (Susan) Collins, Jessica Collins, Jacob (Paula) Collins, Katilyn (Aaron) Davis, Kallie Clearwater, Kara Clearwater, Eddie Clearwater, Billy (Angela) and Avery Holshouser, Amanda and Ava Rogers, Timmy Scott, Olivia and Isabella Collins, Miranda Fair, Reagan Devaisher, Sam Dilley and Lydia Collins.

Reid was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Mildred Holshouser, Roy E. Robison, Jr., Uncle Ed Clearwater, and cousin, Roy “Robby” Robison, IV.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church or the Hillsboro High School Football team.
