Martha Harrelson

Martha Harrelson, 84, of Hillsboro, IL, formerly of Lacey, WA, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 5:03 a.m. at Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care Center, Hillsboro, IL. Cremation rites were accorded, and a graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Hill Cemetery, Van Burensburg, IL with burial to follow. Rev. Myron Kirk, Pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in Fillmore, IL will officiate.

Mrs. Harrelson was born on September 22, 1934, in Munich, Germany to the late Fanz and Anna (Riepp) Hiergiest. She married Samuel "Tom" Harrelson on November 6, 1958, in Germany. He preceded in death on April 19, 2018. Mrs. Harrelson was an Army Wife and stay at home mom. She lived in Munich, Germany, Ft. Bragg, NC, Clarksville, TN, Lacey, WA, and Hillsboro, IL during her lifetime. She loved gardening and being outside, and was very proud of her German heritage. 

Mrs. Harrelson is survived by one son, Bill (Wife Celene) Harrelson, Coffeen, IL; one grandchild, Sara Duff; one great grandchild, Caleb Duff; one sister, Helga Hiergiest, Munich, Germany; and one niece, Maria Schulz, Munich, Germany.

Mrs. Harrelson was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made out to Alzheimer's Association.
