Lola Jean (Root) Watson

Lola Jean Watson, 77, of Hillsboro, IL passed away Friday, December 01, 2017 at 11:58 a.m. at her residence.  A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017. from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside services will be held Friday, December 8, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at Clear Springs Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL.  Rev. James Bailey will officiate.  

Mrs. Watson was born September 12, 1940, in Hillsboro, IL, to the late Harley and Virginia (Athey) Root.   She married James L. Watson on June 8, 1963 in Hillsboro, IL and he survives in Hillsboro, IL.  She was a housewife and had lived in Litchfield, IL; Fillmore, IL; Schram City, IL and Hillsboro, IL durning her lifetime.  Mrs. Watson loved to play Bingo and loved to sew.  She was an avid Race Fan, Tony Stewart was her favorite NASCAR Driver.  

Mrs. Watson is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters, Tammy Elwood of Hillsboro, IL and Paula (husband, Charles) Boerckel of Hillsboro, IL; three grandchildren, James Riley, Terri Martin, Cody Faingnaert; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Larry "Rooter" Root of Hillsboro, IL; three sisters, Mary Ray of Hillsboro, IL; Audrey Blevins of Hillsboro, IL and Joyce Chapman of Hillsboro, IL and two granddogs, Chong & Midnight.  Along with her parents , she was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Leon Watson, two brothers and two sisters.
