I met Kathy when I was 14 or 15. I was hired to babysit their new baby Terry. There was not a more anxious Mama. I kept him for a couple years so Kathy and Terry could go out to dinner or a movie from time to time. When I was in my twenties I lived next door to the Smith's for a few years. Great neighbors and she was just one of a kind. Always willing to help someone if they needed it. One of my favorite memories of Kathy is what great popcorn balls she always made. Hugs and prayers to the family.

My heart breaks for you, Terry and Suzanne. Your mom was an incredible woman. I met her while working at the Coffeen bank. Gradually, with time I came to love your momma and Cookie Dough. We bonded and I adored her. I would often visit your mom on my breaks. During a difficult time your mom become a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear. She always gave the best advice. She has the best heart and touched every single person she met. Most importantly she was proud of her children. She always spoke about you two with such pride. The one thing I admired most about your mom was her sweetness. She had every reason to be a bitter person but she wasn't. I will never forget you, Kathy. My only regret is that I didn't get to tell you goodbye. Terry and Suzanne hugs and prayers.
