Joyce Lee Chapman, 74, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 1:58 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital, Hillsboro, IL. Cremation rites were accorded. No services are planned at this time.
Mrs. Chapman was born on January 21, 1943, in Hillsboro, IL to the late Harley and Virginia (Athey) Root. She married John O'Brien, in Schram City, IL, Richard Norris and John Chapman, and all have preceded her in death. Mrs. Chapman worked as a CNA at Litchfield Terrace for approximately 10 years from 1991-2001. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Chapman was raised in Schram City, IL and also lived in Hillsboro, Litchfield, Morrisonville and Harvel during her lifetime.
Mrs. Chapman is survived by three children, Virginia (husband Rick) Shoultz, Litchfield, IL; John (wife Michelle) O'Brien, Jr. and Dawn Woolard, all of Hillsboro, IL; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one brother, Larry D. "Rooter" Root, and two sisters, Mary Ray and Audrey Blevins, all of Hillsboro, IL.
Mrs. Chapman was also preceded in death by one great grandchild; two brothers, Eugene Dorf and Demoin Root; and three sisters, Nelda Cole, Annie Blevins and Lola Watson.
