James A Mutchler

June 11, 1940 ~ August 25, 2019 (age 79)

James A. Mutchler, 79, of Elizabeth, AR, formerly of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2019 at his residence.  Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Rev. Stefan Munker, Pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, IL, will officate. Burial will take place in Wares Grove Cemetery, rural Butler, IL.    Military rites will be accorded at graveside by V.F.W. Post 1306 and American Legion Post 425..

Mr. Mutchler was born on June 11, 1940, in Commerce, MO, to the late James Wade and Louise Mutchler.  He was a 1958 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL and worked as a plumbing contractor.  Mr. Mutchler lived in Hillsboro, IL and Elizabeth,AR.  He married Sandra Muse in 1961 and they later divorced.  He married Nancy NcNeese and they later divorced. He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 137, Springfield, IL; a member of Operating Engineers Local 520; and a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, knife collecting, spending time with his family and his dogs.  He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961.

Mr. Mutchler is survived by three children, Jack W. (wife, Mary) Mutchler, Jeanine A. Zimmerman, and step-son, Rock (wife, Jami) Mutchler; nine grandchildren, Justin (wife Jessica) Zimmerman, Mallroy Zimmerman (fiancé Mathew Duncan), Remington Zimmerman, Logan Mutchler, Jacob Mutchler, Lydia Mutchler, Bryce Mutchler, Kaidence Mutchler & Rylan Mutchler; two great-grandchildren, June Zimmerman and Joanna Zimmerman; and a brother, Charles "Kayo" Mutchler.

Along with his parents, Mr. Mutchler was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Nichols.
