Essie Marie Collins

Essie Marie Collins, age 98, of Hillsboro IL passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield IL.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro IL.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro.  Pastor Bill Baughman, pastor of Plainview Baptist Church will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Brad Collins, Wally Collins, Matthew Collins, Travis Collins, Todd Gautier and Terry Elder.

Mrs. Collins was born May 4,, 1919 in the Woodsboro Neighborhood of rural Hillsboro IL to the late Roy Lee and Ora Mae (Taulbee) Watson.  She married Don Glen Collins on May 7, 1937 in Hillsboro.  He preceded her on June 26, 1995.

She is survived by two sons, Bradley (wife Linda) Collins of Hillsboro and Wallace "Wally" (wife Marilyn) Collins of Rochester; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren.  Two brothers, Jesse Watson of Michigan, Jim Watson of Hillsboro and one sister, Norma Baker of Hillsboro also survive.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband, daughter, Janet Gautier, granddaughter, Michelle Knapp, four sisters and three brothers.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
