Dominick "Don" Bertinotti

April 24, 1939 ~ December 2, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Dominick "Don" Bertinotti, 78, of Hillsboro, IL passed on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 8:49 a.m. at his residence.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Barbara Cemetery in Witt, IL.  Family and friends will meet at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, in Hillsboro, IL, at 10:15 a.m. to preceded to the cemetery. Tom Lehnen will officiate.

Mr. Bertinotti was born, April 24, 1939 in Hillsboro, IL, to the late James Bertinotti  & Margaret (Holmes) DeLuka.  He married Sandra Sears on November 21, 1959.  She survives in Hillsboro, IL.  He was a 1957 Graduate of Witt High School in Witt, IL and was a bricklayer for Southwest IL Bricklayers for 50 years.  Mr. Bertinotti was an original founder of the Mid America Sports Parachute Club, where he loved to jump and fly; He owned B&B Motorcycle Shop and enjoyed racing and hill climbing; he also loved to hunt, fish, gardening, windsurf and any other outdoor activities. He was very creative and artistic and was a woodcarver.  He had also built the cardboard boat that won the 2017 4th of July Boat Regatta, which he named “Freedom”.  

Mr. Bertinotti is survived by his wife, Sandra, daughter, Teri Bertinotti of Hillsboro, IL; brother, Bradley (wife Barbara) Deluka of Sherman, IL ; sister, Mary Jo (Husband Jack) Burris of Springfield, IL and several nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by step mother, Agnes M. (Schmidt) Bertinotti and step father, Enio DeLuka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to PAWS Care.
