Cornelia B. Alderman, 88, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017, at 12:20 a.m. at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Randy Sands, Pastor of Free Methodist Church, Hillsboro, IL, will officiate. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro, IL.
Mrs. Alderman was born on November 3, 1928 in Highland, IL to the late Arthur and Margaret (Mollet) Schultz. She was a graduate of Highland High School, Highland, IL and worked as a CNA at several different nursing homes. Mrs. Alderman graced everyone, especially her family, with her soft soul, genuine kindness, endless and overflowing love and most importantly her strength. She spent her years after retiring from being a caretaker babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a master at quilting and baking and enjoyed getting her hair done and visiting with family. Mrs. Alderman was often seen in the stands of many sporting events cheering on her many grandchildren. Mrs. Alderman lived in Highland, IL; Greenville, IL; and Hillsboro, IL. She married Darrel W. Alderman on November 26, 1948 in Pocahontas, AR, and he preceded her on June 27, 2011. Mrs. Alderman was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hillsboro, IL.
Mrs. Alderman is survived by five children, Pam (husband Robert) Jurkoshek of Springfield, IL; Dennis (wife Debbie) Alderman of Springfield, IL; Patty (husband Jay) Armbruster of Taylor Springs, IL; Peggy (husband Edward) May of Nokomis, IL; and Paula (husband Kenny) White of Hillsboro, IL; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Alderman was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hopley; and two brothers, Clarence Schultz and Cletus Schultz.
