Betty Jane (Owens) Goby

Betty Jane (Owens) Goby, 102, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at 3:00 a.m., at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab Center in Taylor Springs, IL. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at A Community of Faith Church in Raymond, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at A Community of Faith Church in Raymond, IL.  Pastor Tom Mulch and Pastor Jen Fielden will officiate.  Burial will be in Raymond City Cemetery in Raymond, IL.

Mrs. Goby was born February 11, 1917, in Harvel, IL, to the late Gaines C. & Rebecca (Westhoff) Owens.  She married Albert W. “Sonny” Goby, on June 3, 1936, in Litchfield, IL.  He preceded her in death on May 3, 1992.  Mrs. Goby was a member of A Community of Faith Church in Raymond, IL, Home Extension, 4-H Leader, Mariners, Quilt Club, Senior Citizens, Meals on Wheels, Singles Group and she enjoyed quilting and sewing.  Mrs. Goby was a farm wife and had lived in Raymond, IL her entire life.

Mrs. Goby is survived by seven children, Jane Ethen of Butler, IL, Larry (wife, Doris) Goby of McAllen, TX, Gary (wife, Caren) Goby of Albany, OR, Dale (wife, Marilyn) Goby of Boyne City, MI, Judy (husband, Lou) Weitekamp of Raymond, IL, Terry (wife, Theresa) Goby of Raymond, IL & Jayneece (husband, Larry) Bostwick of Chatham, IL; nineteen grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Goby was preceded in death by one daughter at birth and five brothers.

Memorials are suggested to Raymond Food Pantry or Doyle Public Library in Raymond, IL.
