Willis E Rieke

Willis E. Rieke, 85, of Butler, IL passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015, at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab, Taylor Springs, IL.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home.  Rev. John Jaffry, Pastor of Wares Grove Lutheran Church in Butler, IL, will officiate.  Burial will be in Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler, IL.  Military Rites will be held at graveside by V.F.W. Post #1306 and American Legion Post #425.  

Mr. Rieke was born on August 22, 1930, in Butler, IL, to the late Frank and Carrie (Yeske) Rieke.  Both preceded in death at a young age.  He was then raised by his cousins, Leonard & Clara Niehaus.  They also preceded him in death.  He was a 1948 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL.  Mr. Rieke served in the Army, in Korea, during the Korean War.  He married Eva “Darlene” Uhlry on February 1, 1958.  She survives in Butler, IL.  He was a farmer all of his adult life.  Mr. Rieke was a member of Montgomery County Farm Bureau; Wares Grove Cemetery Board; Treasurer for Blue Grass Drainage District; Soil & Water Board from 1988 till 2000; American Legion Post #425 in Irving, IL.  

Along with his wife, Mr. Rieke is survived by one daughter, Robin Rieke of Butler, IL; one son, Randy (wife Cindi) Rieke of Hillsboro, IL; two grandchildren, Samantha Rieke & Sarah Rieke; four step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; and Jim Simmons (whom was like a son) of Kearney, AZ.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada (Rieke) Dambacher & Frances (Rieke) White.  

Memorials are suggested to Wares Grove Lutheran Church in Butler, IL or Donor’s Choice.
