Sarah Kathleen Murphy

Sarah Kathleen Murphy, 54, of Springfield, IL, formerly of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015, at 8:51 a.m. at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, IL.  Burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Coffeen, IL.  The Very Reverend James L. Neuman, V.F., Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, IL will officiate.

Sarah was born in Hillsboro, IL on September 14, 1961 to Patrick Dane and Marion Connie (Mizera) Murphy.  Her father preceded her on August 17, 2008, and her mother resides in Hillsboro, IL.  She was a 1979 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL and a 1983 graduate of Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, IL.  Sarah was a Histology Technician at St. John's Hospital and also worked at Passavant Hospital.  She was also a Research Assistant for Alzheimer's at SIU School of Medicine, Springfield, IL.  During her lifetime she lived in Hillsboro, IL, Edwardsville, IL and Springfield, IL.  She was a member of St. Al's Church, Springfield, IL, was an avid Cardinals fan, loved animals, enjoyed watching Illini sports and watching football.  She loved her dog, Sassy B and her cats, Ashley, Zoey, Alvin, Missy Moo and Tessa.  Missy Moo was her favorite cat.

Sarah is survived by her dear lifelong friend, Nancy Brown, Springfield, IL; her mother, Connie, Hillsboro, IL; sisters, Melissa (husband Dick) Eskew, Hillsboro, IL; Jenny Murphy, Hillsboro, IL and brothers, Dane (wife Vicky) Murphy, Hillsboro, IL; Mike (wife Cindy) Murphy, Taylor Springs, IL and Ted Murphy, Taylor Springs, IL.

Memorials may be given to the Animal Protective League.
