Rosemary Toberman Hotz, 90, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 8:25 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital, Hillsboro, IL. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Burial will be in Olive Hill Cemetery, Coffeen, IL. Rev. John Walsh, Pastor of United Methodist Church, Coffeen, IL, and Doug White of Litchfield, IL, will officiate.
Mrs. Hotz was born on January 31, 1927, in Sumner, IL, to the late Charles Fisher and Elizabeth L. (McVickar) Piper. She was a 1945 graduate of Sumner High School in Sumner, IL and attended Cosmetology School in Olney, IL to become a beautician. She married Jack Toberman on January 31, 1947 in Sumner, IL and he preceded her in death, she then married Armin D. "Shorty" Hotz in 1980 and he also preceded her in death. She was previous owner of Toberman Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Mrs. Hotz was a member of Red Hats Society, United Methodist Church of Coffeen, IL, Coffeen Royal Neighbors, Eastern Star, Business Professional Women (BPW), and a Hillsboro Educational Foundation Board member. She loved to do yard work and garden. She had lived in Coffeen, IL since 1947.
Mrs. Hotz is survived by two sons, Mike (wife Terry) Toberman of Coffeen, IL and Dan (wife Kathy) Toberman of St. Charles, MO; four grandchildren, Ben Toberman (fiancee Amy) of Taylorville, IL; Aimee (husband Josh) Burdell of Litchfield, IL; Jacob Toberman (fiancee Heather) of Montgomery City, MO; and Joe Toberman (fiancee Kasie) of St. Peters, MO; five great-grandchildren, Isabel Vincent; Aden Toberman; Isaiah Burdell; Noah Burdell; and Greyson Wyatt Toberman and one sister, Kathryn McKinney of Toledo, IL.
Mrs. Hotz was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles R. Piper; two sisters, Eloise Mattoon and Betty Lawson; and one grandchild, Jack Isiah Toberman.
Memorial may be given to United Methodist Church, Coffeen, IL or Coffeen Volunteer Fire Department, Coffeen, IL.
