Robert "Bob" Glen Bugg, 83, of Taylor Springs, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at 6:13 p.m. at Hillsboro Rehab & Health Care Center, Hillsboro, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jeff Hemken, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded after funeral service and a private burial will take place at a later date.
Mr. Bugg was born on June 9, 1934, in Clarksdale, IL, to the late Lucille (Bugg) Engelman. He was raised by his grandparents, Glenn and Ida Bugg. Both preceded him in death. Mr. Bugg was a 1952 graduate of Raymond High School, Raymond, IL. He married Lillie Striplin on April 5, 1954, in Biloxi, MS, and she survives in Taylor Springs, IL. Mr. Bugg was a tank driver in the Army National Guard and had worked as a truck driver, farmer of dairy, horses and grain and a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Luck & Buck Saddle Club, Hillsboro, IL; American Coon Hunters Assocation; Hillsboro Moose Lodge #1377; attended Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL; loved going to auctions, horses and playing rummy and was also an avid John Wayne fan. He lived in Raymond, IL and Hillsboro, IL during his lifetime.
Mr. Bugg is also survived by five children, April (husband Tom) Mikolasek, Litchfield, IL; Bobbi Hartman, Taylor Springs, IL; Craig (wife Debra) Bugg, Raymond, IL; Debora (husband Andrew) Lemke, Wichita Falls, TX and Geoffrey Bugg, Great Falls, MT; eleven grandchildren, Rochelle Mutchler; Glenda (husband Bob) Fenton; Andrea (husband Aaron) Savage; Jason Pfeifer; Heather (husband Jessie) Taylor; Joe (wife Abby) Bugg; Jennifer (husband Josh) Matli; Amanda (husband Omar) Jimenez; Tiffany Taylor; Blake Bugg and Adelyn Bugg and 21 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Calvary Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL.
