Merrill Lee Micenheimer, 85, of Coffeen, IL passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at 4:06 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL. Burial will take place in Olive Hill Cemetery, Coffeen, IL. Rev. Tim Logue, Pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL will officiate with the Rev. Leland Redfern assisting.
Mr. Micenheimer was born August 10, 1931, in Hillsboro, IL, to the late Harold C. & Grace (Tannehill) Micenheimer. He was a 1951 Graduate of Coffeen High School in Coffeen, IL and had service in the Army from 1952 to 1954, during the Korean War Era. He married Estella Marie Huber, on June 12, 1955, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Coffeen, IL. She survives in Coffeen, IL. He had worked for Illinois Consolidated & GTE Telephone as a Repair Man, retiring after 42 years of service. Mr. Micenheimer was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Coffeen, IL; Coffeen Volunteer Fire Department, had served on City Council in Coffeen, IL for 8 years, was a Coffeen Girls Softball Coach for several years, loved to golf, and loved to play dominos.
Along with his wife, Mr. Micenheimer is survived by two daughters, Jodi Ulrici of Coffeen, IL and Cheryl Petray of Witt, IL; two granddaughters, Kayla (husband Adam) Fath, who are expecting Merrill’s first great-grandchild, & Savannah Petray (boyfriend Corey Beatty); three sisters, Pearl L. Crawford of Edwardsville, IL; Deloris A. Donahoo of Centralia, IL & Mayola (husband Tom) Dean of Pana, IL and one brother, Wayne Bledsoe of Valley Park, MO. He was preceded in death by his step mother, Velma Micenheimer Wygal on December 23, 2013; one sister, Juanita Bledsoe on March 12, 2002 & one brother, George Micenheimer on December 30, 2002.
Memorials may be given to Montgomery County Cancer Association or Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL.
