Maxine Elaine Casey, 79, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 5:42 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Taylor Springs, IL. Visitation will be on Friday, March 6, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Memorial service will be Friday, March 6, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Mike Skinner, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Mrs. Casey was born on October 3, 1935, in Pocahontas, IL to the late Harry David and Ruby Agnes (Trobaugh) Cunningham. She married Charles Casey on September 1, 1954, in Hillsboro, IL and he survives in Hillsboro, IL. She was a 1953 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL. Mrs. Casey was a homemaker; self-employed seamstress doing alterations and making dresses and babysat for many children in the Hillsboro area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Hillsboro, IL, Quilting Guild, long time Girl Scout Leader, wrote articles for Motorcycle Magazine for 10 years and loved to square dance.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tena (husband Nelson) Jones; Patricia (husband David) Higgins; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Higgins, Andrew Higgins, Rebekah (husband Donovan) Jones Morris; Michele Jones; one great grandchild, Nelson Charles Jones Morris and one brother, Earl Edward Cunningham.
She was preceded by her parents; one daughter, Elaine Agnes Casey in 1982; one grandson, Robert David Higgins and one brother, Melvin Dean Cunningham.
