Lois Dean Bowen, 84, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2014, at 7:56 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Taylor Springs, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with services at 5:30 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Rev. Ed Diveley, Pastor of Southside Church, Litchfield, IL will officiate. Private burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum in Springfield, IL. Mrs. Bowen was born on February 27, 1930, in Texas City, IL, to the late Cletus & Emma (Reicheldefer) Phelps. She is a Graduate of Eldorado High School in Eldorado, IL. She married Claude Bowen on January 13, 1957 in Eldorado, IL. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Bowen was Owner & Operator of Reabans Restaurant (now Park & Eat) in Hillsboro, IL. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL and Meadow Brook Baptist Church in Meadowbrook, IL. Mrs. Bowen is survived by her children, Mark (wife Stacy) Bowen of Hillsboro, IL & Wendell (wife Telesa) Durham of London, MO; grandchildren, Eric Bowen, Adam Bowen, Nichole Miller & Megan Durham; great grandchildren, Meredith Noel Bowen and Chipper Scott Miller and her brothers & sisters, Raymond Phelps, Glen Phelps, Bill Phelps, Lily Rippey, Marie Smith & Emily Smith. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association.
