Kathryn Ann (Bean) Gartner

Kathryn Ann (Bean) Gartner, 86, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at 2:03 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.  Cremation rites were accorded.  Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gartner was born on March 29, 1930, in Decatur, IL, to the late Haldane & Agnes (Cutler) Bean.  She was a graduate of Urbana High School, Urbana, IL and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois.  Mrs. Gartner worked for a text book publisher and was a retired school teacher.  She had taught at Princeton for 3 years. She married Hugo Adolph Gartner on April 19, 1962, in Urbana, IL, and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2013.  During her lifetime she lived in Decatur, IL; Blue Mound, IL; Urbana, IL; Cherokee Village, AR; Hillsboro, IL and Peoria, IL.  Mrs. Gartner was a member of AAUW and the Methodist Church.

Mrs. Gartner is survived by three children, Wendy Bloom, Michigan; Kyna Glover, Boulder, CO and Aric Gartner, Pekin, IL; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Marjory McDowell and Norma Bean.

Graveside Memorial Services for Hugo and Kathryn Gartner will be held Monday, February 13, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Carterville, IL.  Richard Small, Hillsboro, IL, will officiate.  Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL is in charge of arrangements.
