Joel "Cadillac Joe" Thacker, 72, of Donnellson, IL passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at 8:43 p.m. at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Coffeen, IL. Rev John Walsh, Pastor of United Methodist Church, will be officiating. Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, IL is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thacker was born on March 15, 1943, in Hillsboro, IL to the late H. Clifford and S. Jane Thacker. He married Judy Otto-Horn on January 21, 1996, and she survives in Donnellson, IL. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Science from SIU-Carbondale. Mr. Thacker worked as a Laborer out of Local 1084 in Hillsboro, IL. During his lifetime he also lived in Hillsboro, IL and Carbondale, IL. Mr. Thacker was a member of Labor Local 1084 and the United Methodist Church, Coffeen, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Thacker, of Donnellson, IL; three children, Charles E. Horn, Eric C. Horn and Dian F. Horn; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Frank Thacker, Coalton, IL; three nieces, Jenni Parish, Bea Akers and Barb Thacker; and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Clifford and S. Jane Thacker and one sister, Joan Sarginson.
Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
