Janet Aileen (Salsi) Spencer

Janet Spencer, 69, of Hillsboro, IL passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 10:15 a.m., at St. John's Hospice in Springfield, IL.  A visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL.  Rev. Michael Lawton, Pastor or United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL, will officate. 

Janet was born September 29, 1947, in Peoria, IL, to the late Lee "Babe" & Aileen (Warner) Salsi.  She was a 1965 Graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, IL and had attended 1 year of college.  Janet had worked for State Farm Insurance Company as a claims adjuster.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL; served as Treasure for the Old Settlers Association for 25 years and she loved gardening, traveling and her dogs.  

Janet is survived by two grandchildren, Jared Spencer & Sadie Spencer both of Azle, TX; her sister, Carol (husband Dave) Booher of Hillsboro, IL, a niece, Kristin Booher of Davidson, North Carolina and her rescue dog, Lucky.  Along with her parents, Janet was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Thomas Spencer on January 5, 2014 & Kenneth Lee Spencer on April 28, 2008.

Memorials are suggested to Montgomery County Animal Shelter or United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, IL.
