James Sherman, 81, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 3:02 a.m. at his residence. Cremation rites were accorded. No services are planned at this time. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL is assisting the family.
Mr. Sherman was born on January 28, 1936, in Jerseyville, IL to the late Eugene and Marvene (Walton) Sherman. He was a high school graduate and worked as a self-employed mechanic. He married Linda Sherman in Alton, IL on December 12, 1978, and she survives in Hillsboro, IL. During his lifetime he lived in Florida and Hillsboro for the last 21 years.
Mr. Sherman is also survived by one son, Paul (wife Lydia) Weissenfluh, Wood River, IL and one grandchild, Jesse Weissenfluh.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sherman was preceded in death by one sister.
Memorials may be given to Montgomery County Cancer Association.
