Helen D (Reynolds) Cox

Helen D. Cox, 93, of Hillsboro, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab Center, Taylor Springs, IL.  Cremation rites were accorded.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Cox was born on December 10, 1922, in Springfield, IL to the late William and Alma (Vogelsang) Reynolds.  She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Springfield, IL.  She married Leonard Eugene "Gene" Cox on April 18, 1944, in Springfield, IL, and he preceded her on December 29, 1976.  Mrs. Cox was Branch Manager of American Savings in Hillsboro, IL and worked for the Journal-News as a proofreader.  During her lifetime she lived in Springfield, IL and Danville, IL before moving to Hillsboro, IL in 1965.  Mrs. Cox was a past member of the Chamber of Commerce and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Mrs. Cox is survived by four daughters, Barbara (husband Richard) Arhart, Wilmington, DE; Dr. Nancy Cox (husband Dr. Paul Epstein), Nashville, TN; Terry Cox (husband Dale Ware), Wasilla, AK and Betsy (husband Mike) Homa, Hillsboro, IL; five grandchildren, Nicholas Homa, Katie Homa, Bonnie Epstein, Carrie Epstein, Kristin Ware; and one great grandson, Deklen Homa.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
