Hazel Jewel Young, 96, of Coffeen, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at 5:45 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab Center, Taylor Springs, IL. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home, Coffeen, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home, Coffeen, IL. Burial will take place in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Coffeen, IL. Pastor Wayne Pierce, former pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL, will officiate.
Mrs. Young was born on November 29, 1920, in White Town, IL, rural Montgomery County, to the late Stephen Taylor and Florence A. (Bone) White. She attended Coffeen Country School, Coffeen, IL and worked at the Hillsboro Glass Factory, Hillsboro, IL and quilted for people in her home. Mrs. Young lived in the Coffeen, IL area most of her life. She married Charles Leroy Daniels and they later divorced. She married Francis "Frank" William Young, Jr. on February 6, 1959 in Hillsboro, IL and he preceded her on November 3, 2008. Mrs. Young was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL; a member of Royal Neighbors, Coffeen, IL; and a member of Senior Citizens, Coffeen, IL.
Mrs. Young is survived by her son, Ronnie (wife Diana) Daniels of Coffeen, IL; three grandchildren, Mike Daniels, Chad Daniels and Tory Daniels; four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Young was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vourse White and Ralph White; and one sister, Fairy Loretta Blackburn.
Memorial may be given to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL.
