Don Paul Welge

March 24, 1944 ~ October 25, 2015 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Don Paul Welge, 71, of Butler, IL passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 8:25 a.m. at his residence.  Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Burial will take place at Wares Grove Cemetery, Butler, IL at a later date.

Mr. Welge was born on March 24, 1944, to the late Albert C. and Sara (Johnson) Welge in Winchester, IN.  He graduated from Spartanburg High School, Spartanburg, IN and received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Education from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.  He married Marcella Gibbs on June 19, 1965 in Lynn, IN.  She survives in Butler, IL.  During his lifetime he lived in Spartanburg, IN; Muncie, IN and had lived in Butler, IL for the last 50 years.  Mr. Welge taught Industrial Education at Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL for seven years and then retired from Ameren Coffeen Power Station after 30 years of service.  He was a member of the Sorento Coon Hunter's Association.

In addition to his wife, Marcella, he is survived by three daughters, Lisa (husband Scott) Deetz, Dayton, OH; Dana (husband Mark) Brady, Chatham, IL; Jill (husband Darren) Wright, Butler, IL; one son, Jason Welge, Lansing, MI; five grandchildren, Anthony Brady, Logan Brady, Kelsey Brady, Jarod Deetz and Megan Deetz; two brothers, Fred Welge, Warsaw, IN; William (companion Kathy) Welge, Lafayette, IN and one sister, Susie Laurent, Butler, IL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Claire L. Brady.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Research.
