Colleen J. Benny passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2:30 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing & Rehab Center in Taylor Springs, IL. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL. Rev. Father Ryszard Hanaszewski, Chaplain of St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield IL, will officiate. Burial will be St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro, IL. Mrs. Benny was born on March 25, 1924, in Livingston, IL, to the late Thomas W. & Hattie (Edwards) Davis. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in the Class of 1942. She married Stanley E. Benny on November 24, 1945 in Coffeen, IL. He preceded in death on March 9, 1999. Mrs. Benny had worked at Western Union; Telephone Operator in Hillsboro, IL; Volunteered for Red Cross in Montgomery County; Montgomery County Court House for Harold Whitten; Hillsboro Glass Factory and Owner of Mode-O-Day in Hillsboro, IL. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, IL. Mrs. Benny is survived by her children, Harold Benny of Hillsboro, IL & Pat (husband Charles) Boehler of Tamaroa, IL; grandchildren, Jill (husband Kris) Wells, Joshua Benny, Brent Boehler & Drew (wife Susan) Boehler; and great grandsons, Colton Wells & Barrett Boehler. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Taylor, Iva Oakley and one brother, Ernie Davis. Memorials are suggested for Montgomery County Cancer Association.
