Bruce Martin Floyd, age 66, of Butler IL passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 9:25 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation, Taylor Springs, IL.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 5:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m., at Broad Street Pub in Hillsboro, IL
Bruce was born on September 4, 1950 in Hillsboro, IL to the late William "Bill" Floyd, Sr. and Helen (Mobley) Floyd. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School, attended the University of Illinois, and graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist up until his illness.
Bruce’s wife, Meta Jo (Shannon) Floyd, resides at their residence in rural Butler, IL, along with sons, Baron Floyd, Henry Floyd, and Quaid Floyd.
Bruce and Meta Jo were married October 28, 2000 in Springfield, IL.
Bruce had two daughters with Bobbie (Adams) Floyd. Bobbie preceded him in death in 1995.
Daughter Kate (husband Todd) Miller resides in Springfield, IL with their two daughters, Izabella Miller and Kendall Miller.
Daughter Jenny (husband John) VanValer resides in Indianapolis, IN with their two daughters, Bobbie VanValer and Marian VanValer.
Two brothers preceded him in death; W.E. Floyd in infancy and Brian J. Floyd on July 29, 2000.
Bruce is survived by one brother, Bill (wife Marilyn) Floyd, Jr.in Evanston, IL.
Memorials are suggested for the Bruce Floyd Memorial Fund, for the benefit of Hillsboro High School, 522 Tremont St, Hillsboro, IL.
