Betty June McCulley

Betty June McCulley, 88, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 4:57 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.  Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL is assisting the family.  Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Irving Cemetery, Irving, IL.  Rev. Mike Lawton, Pastor of United Methodist Church, Hillsboro, IL will officiate.

Betty was born on June 29, 1928, in Irving, IL, to the late George and Lillie (Edwards) McCulley.  She was a 1946 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL, and worked for 39 years at Hillsboro Glass Company, retiring in 1986.  During her lifetime she lived in Irving and Hillsboro.  Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church, Hillsboro, IL and Royal Neighbors, Irving, IL.  She enjoyed breakfast/lunch outings with her friend, Sharon Sanders, Sunday church services and following the St. Louis Cardinals.  Every year she knew all the players and pitching line-ups.

Betty is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne, Drexall and Oscar McCulley and two sisters, Opal McCulley Cress and Emma Louise Smith.

Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.

The family would like to say a special thanks to her niece, Sherry Ellis, Tammy, Mark, Jacob and Josh Bauman and Samantha and Michael Keller for their caregiving thru the years, and so many other relatives and community members who helped Aunt Betty.
