Anita Lee Monk

Anita Lee Monk, 76, of Coffeen, IL passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL with burial in Green Hill Cemetery, Van Burensburg, IL.  Rev. Ken Fookes, Pastor of East Fork Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL will be officiating.

Mrs. Monk was born on March 14, 1938, in Maybury, West Virginia to the late James and Edna Childers.  She married Lawrence Monk on February 8, 1958 in Virginia, and he survives in Coffeen, IL.  Mrs. Monk was a quality control assistant manager for Brach's Candy in Chicago, IL for 30 years. Her husband also worked for Brach's Candy.  Her and her husband, Lawrence, moved to Coffeen, IL in 1994.  She was a member of East Fork Baptist Church, Coffeen, IL.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Monk, of Coffeen, IL; two daughters, Benita (husband Wayne) Biella, Crown Point, IN and Debbie (husband Gary) Durbin, Coffeen, IL; five grandchildren, Rob (wife Brianne) Biella; Adam (wife Jessica) Biella; Maegan (husband Billy) Durbin; Amber (husband Joe) Biella; Sean (wife Leslie) Durbin; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Joe (wife Janet) Childers, Coffeen, IL and one sister, Edna Reed, West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roy Childers of West Virginia and two children in 1959 in infancy, Lawrence Monk, Jr. and Kimberly Ann Monk.

Memorials may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Anita's name.
